Paws and Claws Animal Rescue Foundation is an all-volunteer run, registered, non-profit organization based in Alberta, Canada. Paws and Claws is a system of volunteer foster homes ( Red Deer, Sylvan Lake, Eckville & Edmonton ); families take needy dogs, puppies, cats and kittens into their own homes and provide loving care until a suitable home is found. Paws and Claws Animal Rescue Foundation has been rescuing animals in cooperation with the Sunchild and O'Chiese First Nations for over five years.
Paws and Claws Animal Rescue Foundation Mission Statement:
To develop a safe, loving, healthy family environment for dogs and cats that live on the Sunchild and O'Chiese Aboriginal Communities. Whether the desired environment can be obtained on or off the Aboriginal Communities will be determined on an individual basis.
provide rescue services for abandoned,
abused/ neglected, or surrendered dogs and cats
provide food
for dogs and cats
encourage
animal owners to spay and neuter; we facilitate that process
by funding spay/neuter clinics, and transportation
assistance
provide
education on animal care, puppy rearing, health requirements,
nurturing, training, and importance of
spaying/neutering
develop a
stable group of volunteers to foster animals on a temporary basis
prior to adoption
develop a
programs to provide yearly vaccinations; to continue our spay/neuter
program for dogs and cats. We would like to incorporate owner funding along with
Paws and Claws Animal Rescue funding.
encourage pet
owner participation in all Paws and Claws programs
form "partnerships" with town (Red Deer, Sylvan Lake & Rimbey etc.) businesses
(groomers, vets, pet supply stores, etc.) to obtain donations of
discounted services, food etc. as well as provide a greater circle
of awareness for Paws and Claws Animal Rescue Foundation.
