Paws and Claws volunteers have tremendous respect for Jim and Martine, and are grateful for their work. Jim and Martine are both bylaw officers who perform a thankless service to animals. These people have huge hearts, and prefer to re-home animals. By law, they could euthenize after 72 hours, but they choose NOT to. Courtesy AdoptionsUpdated June 25, 2010Paws and Claws Animal Rescue consists of a small group of volunteers who foster out of our homes. Our mandate is to rescue off the Sunchild and O'Chiese First Nations Communities. We realize, however, that there are many dogs in our own communities looking for homes. We partner with other rescue organizations, as well as local animal control, to help find homes for the dogs and cats in their care as well. We created this page to feature such animals. Most people want puppies, but quite often the best dogs are older dogs (through no fault of their own) end up in pounds or S.P.C.A.'s across Canada. An estimated 10 million pets are abandoned in North America each year and more than 4 million of those are euthanized simply because they do not have homes. Please consider giving one of these wonderful dogs a second chance in life and please spay and neuter!

This is Boogs, a 2 year old boxer mastiff cross. He is in a foster home in central Alberta right now and is looking for a new home. |

Turner is a 5 month old male black lab chow cross. He is aquiet little boy. He really needs some love, as he was rescused by the SPCA when he was 8 weeks old, but they didnt have space for him. He has never lived in a home so he is very unsure of people sometimes.This guy is a sweet charmer! He gets along beautifully with other dogs, and he warms up to people after a day or so once he trusts he won't be harmed. |
